When I started out as a landscape photographer in 2015 as a hobby, I was approached to do senior portraits for hire in 2017. I was not keen on the idea because I was on the one track mind of just doing landscapes. I understood lighting and composition for landscapes, but wasn’t sure I could grasp that concept in portraits. I took on the challenge and haven’t looked back since. I am so grateful I had those opportunities in 2017 to do senior and family portraits. It’s where I want to be today photographing memories.

I didn’t wake up one morning and decide to become a photographer and digital artist - I just kind of fell into it.  It has progressed into so much more fulfillment than I could ever imagine. Photography isn’t just about taking a picture; it’s how I see the picture through the lens and the true art of my photograph is what I see in my editing.  I can make a photograph look a 100 different ways, but my enjoyment is bringing the photo to life in a more interesting way. I’ve never aspired to be a professional, but a hobbyist always, with aspirations to do professional looking photographs and digital art.

Dana is exceptional. We just wrapped up a two-session photo shoot for senior pictures (which included a spirited, kinda' naughty horse in both sessions). Dana went above and beyond, meeting us ahead of time at BOTH locations to scout and get ideas. On location for shooting days, she was full of great suggestions, plans, and had a planned schedule mapped out based on time of day, lighting, etc. Ultra organized and creative! She is also very personable and made my daughter feel at ease. And as for the photos themselves, they are fantastic.
