Erika’s Sheboygan Falls High School Senior Portraits
Erika - Midwest to the Rockies! Kari booked Erika’s senior portraits all the way from Wisconsin! Erika is graduating from Sheboygan Falls High School, class of 2026. I absolutely love getting my out of state clients. When I received the intake form and saw Sheboygan Fall High School, I thought that ain’t from around here. Erika wanted the Colorado Mountains for her backdrop. Since they were coming from out of state, I suggested a more epic spot for Erika then just the Morrison area. Erika also wanted some photos done in one of the rocky mountain towns, too.
We lucked out with weather for Erika’s photo shoot, lucked out in the fact that we did not have thunderstorms. But was I thrilled about almost clear skies in the mountains, NO. I hate the sun in my photos! It’s just me, It’s harsh and works my off camera flash to the max. But you get what you get and work with what you have. Timing is everything I would say our timing wasn’t perfect. Mountains are hard to time when it comes to weather.
Kari and Erika drove up separately with some family who live in the Denver area, we were to meet up at our designated spot. Before I left, I checked weather and driving condition before I headed up, all good. As I am approaching my turn off for the location I get a texted from Kari saying the road is Closed to our location. Not surprised, it seems this spot closes a lot, so I had them go straight to Georgetown for a meet. Our contingency plan is now Guanella Pass. They were so pleased I had a quick fix for their disappointed closure.
This session was a whole new experience for me, as I don’t get request for mountain proper photo shoots. And as for Georgetown, what a great spot. I have never actually walked around Geogetown and I am a Colorado Native. The thing’s we take for granted!
I enjoyed my excursion with these two ladies and showing them a tiny, tiny part of Colorado mountains.
