NEW! Introducing Portraits for Tween and Teens

Somewhere between childhood and the big, wide world of teenhood sits the tween: curious, opinionated, occasionally dramatic, and endlessly photogenic. At Dana Nicole Smith Photography I celebrate that in-between moment with timeless portraits that feel honest today and will still make everyone smile years from now.

I blend classic composition and warm, natural light with a relaxed approach that lets real personality shine — no forced smiles, no awkward poses. Think: quiet confidence, goofy grins, and those small, honest expressions that become family favorites and framed keepsakes. Sessions are relaxed, fun, and tailored to each tween’s vibe so the final images look like them.

Basic

  • $180 session fee - 1 child up to 60+ minutes depending on location. This yields 100-150 proof gallery. 10+ final images

    Choose your location. I provide a list of location when you book. If you have a favorite spot, please let me know.

    STUDIO is also availabe

    $375- 5 images. $315 - 10 images. $390 - 15 images. $420 - 20 images. Images are printable up to 8x10. The more you love the more you save on each image.

  • THIS IS FOR AGES 8-16 ONLY. CHILD(REN) that are in their graduating year must book a senior portrait session.

    . You can book your appointment easily from the Schedule/Booking.

    . Free phone or in-person consultation.

    . Choose your location from ‘Portrait Location’ that will be provided to you when you book.

    . A charge of .50 per mile will be applied for locations that are not on my list and are outside the 20 radius of DNSP.

    . Pick your favorite photos for editing at your photo reveal. Selected photos are custom edited.

    . Digital images and products are sold separately.

    . 50% deposit will be due. Deposit is nonrefundable. Rescheduling is always available.

    Quick tips for a great session

    • Keep outfits simple and layered — textures and solid colors photograph beautifully.

    • Bring one “feel-good” outfit (the one they love) and one casual option for motion shots.

    • Plan for hair and makeup to be light and age-appropriate — the goal is to enhance, not transform.

NOTE: While I do not have a large portfolio for tweens, tweens are no different than my seniors. Just more energetic!

FAQs

Can I bring props and wardrobe changes to the session?

Absolutely! Props help tie in the scene, give the client something to do with their hands and adds a little something special to the photo. Clothing changes are also welcome, but I do discourage more than three outfits per session. This will encroach on your session time.

Are there specific times of the day that you prefer for shooting portraits due to lighting considerations?

When you book I only offer one time for that day and it roughly 1.5 hours before sunset. Depending on the location you pick, a sunrise time will be better. Lighting is everything in photography!

How far in advance do I need to book a session with you?

While my calendar is wide open initially, I only allot for no more than 6-8 sessions a month, so when those spots spots are gone, I will closeout my calendar. If you are in fall sports, I highly recommend a June or July session,because weather happens and so does you sports schedule and they don‘t always align.

How do you prefer payment—upfront, in installments, or after the shoot?

At least half you already paid for when you booked. The other half is due at the end of the session. I only accept Cash or Check.

Do you offer retouching or editing services as part of the package?

I don‘t offer packages. Images are sold separately. When you purchase an Image, that fee is for me to retouch/ edit that image. No un-edited/ raw files will be attained.

What is the turnaround time for receiving the final edited images?

It takes me one day to do 4-5 images, so 20 images will 5-7 days. It also depends on how many clients are in queue before you.
